Stepping Stones

We made stepping stones!

Need
- Quick drying cement
- Jewels (dollar store)
- Boxes (we used a cereal box which was kind of flimsy, and a sturdier box which is recommended)
- A handsome husband to do all the hard work
- Two cute kids for handprints and footprints

Step 1: (no pic) Find strong boxes. I modified them to make them square (aka: used scissors and tape).
Step 2: Have husband mix cement and pour in boxes
(Yes, that is my child in a poofy pink skirt and topless; that's how she rolls)

Step 3: Help kiddos with handprint and footprint.. you might have to try this several times until you get a halfway decent one.
(Doing all the hard work while I stand around watching)

Step 4: Have older child put jewels in. Note: Show them how to do this, don't assume they will know just to stick it on top. They may think it should be shoved down as far as it can go.
Step 5: Let it dry and remove from box! So they aren't perfect by any means, but they are perfect to me. I think they turned out great and look wonderful in our yard.
 Adorable, right?

Fairy Home

So Pinterest has a ton of fairy garden's floating around and we just happen to have a stump in our backyard..so, I was inspired! I put this together and when my toddler woke up, I told her a fairy moved into our backyard. We went outside and searched for it, and wouldn't you know it, it was Tinkerbell's house! (according to G).

Of course we discussed how fairy's are scared of people and hide, so we probably wouldn't ever see her. And, that we weren't allowed to touch it or else the magic will go away. She loved staring at it and kept checking on it all throughout the day. She even had to dress up as Tinkerbell (her pink tutu and wings).

This was fun and it is holding up pretty good so far. Plus, look how cute!

Spider Web Obstacle Course

It's a little cool and super windy outside. I hate wind. We are not going outside today.. again :( Well I told G that a spider came into our house, made a web, and is hiding in her room! Here's the proof ;)

I just taped a bunch of pink streamers back and forth to the wall down the hallway. I had to do it twice, the first time I didn't put any low enough and the little stinker just crawled underneath all of them. After I re-adjusted them, she went crazy going back and forth several times and had a BLAST!
She was super stealth-like, and very quick! We even turned off the light and I gave her a flashlight to use as she went over and under the "spider webs".
She has a really good imagination. After a while I think she was really convinced there was a spider, because she was too scared to keep playing! We both ran through it and tore it down.
